Privacy Policy
1. Controller
The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Julian Metzger Kurt-Lindemann-Str. 46 69151 Neckargemünd, Germany Email: golli@metzger-consult.de2. Principle: Privacy by Design
The Golli Family Organizer is built so that your data belongs to you and stays on your devices or in your personal iCloud. We operate no servers of our own, collect no personal data, and have no access to your appointments, shopping lists, routines, meal plans, or any other content. There is no user account and no sign-in.
3. What data is processed – and where
a) Locally on your device
The content you create in Golli – family members and their colors, routines, meal plans,
display and app settings – is stored on your device (SwiftData) as well as
in technical settings (UserDefaults). This data only leaves your device via
the iCloud synchronization described under b). Appointments and shopping/to-do items are
managed via Apple Calendar and Reminders (see e).
b) iCloud synchronization (Apple CloudKit)
If you are signed in to iCloud on your device and iCloud is enabled for Golli, the app synchronizes your content between your own devices (iPad, iPhone, and Mac) via Apple CloudKit. The data is stored exclusively in your private iCloud database. The provider of this service is Apple; as the app provider, we have no access to this data. No data is transmitted to us. Details are governed by Apple's privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/en-ww/
Without an iCloud account, Golli works fully offline; in that case no synchronization takes place.
c) Calendar & Reminders (Apple EventKit)
Golli builds directly on Apple Calendar and Reminders. If you grant access, the app reads and writes appointments to your local/iCloud calendars and shopping/to-do items to your reminder lists — this is how the shared weekly calendar and the shared shopping lists come about. Access only takes place after your explicit approval and can be revoked at any time in the iOS Settings. This content remains in your Apple calendars and reminders; it is not transmitted to us. Its processing is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
d) Suggestions by Apple Intelligence (on-device AI)
The optional “In Focus” feature summarizes what's coming up on-device and turns free text
(e.g. “Paul soccer Tuesday 5 pm”) into ready-made event drafts. These suggestions are
computed via Apple's on-device models (FoundationModels / Apple Intelligence)
locally on your device. The appointment and text input processed for this
purpose does not leave your device and is not transmitted to us. The feature is only
available on supported devices and in supported regions and always provides suggestions
only.
e) Notifications
If you allow notifications, Golli schedules local reminders on your device (e.g. about upcoming appointments or routines). No push data is sent via external servers. Granting permission is voluntary and can be revoked at any time in the iOS Settings.
4. No data collection by the provider, no tracking
Golli contains no analytics or tracking tools,
no advertising, no third-party SDKs for
data collection, and does not share any data for advertising purposes. No tracking
within the meaning of the App Tracking Transparency framework takes place
(NSPrivacyTracking = false).
5. Contact by email
If you contact us by email (golli@metzger-consult.de), we process the information you provide (e.g. email address, content of the message) in order to answer your inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding) or (1)(b) where the inquiry relates to use of the app. The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required, at the latest once statutory retention obligations have expired.
6. Legal bases
Insofar as the app processes data locally, this is done to provide the features you request (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR). Optional access (calendar, reminders, notifications) is based on your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR), which you can revoke at any time.
7. Storage period
Your content remains stored until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. You manage data stored in iCloud as well as in Apple Calendar and Reminders via the respective iCloud and app settings. Since we do not receive any data, we store nothing – except in the case of direct contact (section 5).
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have in particular the following rights: access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and objection (Art. 21). You can revoke any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future.
Since your app content resides exclusively on your devices and in your private iCloud, you can exercise most of these rights yourself directly (edit or delete content in the app, manage appointments and reminders in the Apple apps, manage iCloud data via the iCloud settings). For matters concerning us, please contact golli@metzger-consult.de.
9. Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data (Art. 77 GDPR).
10. Changes to this privacy policy
We will update this privacy policy when the app's features or the legal situation change. The current version published here applies in each case.
